There is
something special about the Alano Club of the Eastside. The little
house on the hill on Northeast Eighth Street in Bellevue, Washington, is open 365 days a
year, and has been providing a place to socialize and meet other people in recovery for
almost 30 years!

members are entitled to use the members' lounge to socialize and receive a 10% discount on
all food and beverage purchases, as well as access to the internet.

Benefit is that when someone reaches out, the hand of AA is there.
The Alano
Club provides:
9 meetings
per day, 11 meetings on Saturday, 75 meetings a week serving AA, Al-Anon, Nicotine
Anonymous, Marijuana Anonymous, and others.
It is a
gathering place 7 days a week, 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., 365 Days a Year! Over 50,000
people use the Alano Club each year! We look forward to our 40th Anniversary in 2013.

1973
$4,500 raised for down payment on property. There is one AA meeting a week.

1988 15
year anniversary. A $15K matching gift from Boeing granted. Kitchen and cafe remodeled.

1993
The Alano Club burned the mortgage, from this date forward the club owns property and
buildings.

1998
25th year anniversary. Bathrooms and main hallway remodeled.

2000
Members Lounge becomes non-smoking, redecorated, and computer donated.

2001
New gas fireplace donated for Members Lounge.

2002 A
dishwasher is donated in the finest of spirits.

2003-Kitchen
counters remodeled and ceramic floor installed.

2004-New
roof put on the annex building.
-
2005-Ceramic
tile donated and installed in cafe, hallway, and restrooms.

2007-New
roof put on the main club building.
-
2009-Annex
get repairs, fresh paint, better drainage, and a new large planter along the
west side of the building. Plants are donated to fill the planter too.
2011-Interior remodel of annex with new a/c, carpet, lighting, paint and more.

Imagine
if... The
door of the Alano Club closed and the light behind the door went away.
"The Alano Club was here when I got here - I want to make sure it's here for the next
person."
